Pepco Holdings, Inc. (PHI) provides electric service to over 1.8 million customers across New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, and the District of Columbia. As the electric system evolves, it is critical to assess new technologies and practices and develop ways to reduce energy usage and peak demand.
Conservation Voltage Reduction (CVR) allows for both the reduction of peak demand and energy usage by lowering the voltage on the distribution feeder. The PI System allows PHI to store data from smart meters to assess CVR performance and verify that proper voltage is still being delivered to all customers.
