This session takes a high level look at the technologies, architectures and lessons learned through OSIsoft Research proof of concepts in the emerging “Internet of Things” landscape as they apply to the current, evolving and future PI System.
As Chief Software Architect, Richard Beeson is responsible for the overall PI System Architecture, aligning business and technology to deliver products and services for exceptional customer value and experience. In addition, Richard leads OSIsoft’s cross departmental Strategic Planning Group helping shape the long term business and product vision and strategy. In 2014 Richard sponsored and continues to steer OSIsoft’s Research and Innovation Center, designed to keep OSIsoft’s engineers and technology leading edge and maintain our role as a pathfinder. Richard routinely engages with strategic customers and partners as well as steering and advisory boards across the business and technology community.
Writing commercial environmental software to help fund his education, Richard graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Chemical Engineering and in 1990 was fortunate to be introduced to OSIsoft, joining the company as a Software Engineer, holding many individual and leadership roles over the years since."
