Coreso provides coordination services for the secure operation of the high-voltage electricity system for over 40% of the population of the European Union. Coreso’s objective is to help European Transmission System Operators (TSOs) to maintain optimal security of supply by providing them with an overview of electricity flows at European regional level to complement their national data.
Patrick De Leener
Patrick De Leener has a Master in engineering and a Business Management education.
He has a large experience in the electricity industry and held several senior management positions at Elia, the Belgian electricity Transmission System Operator (Market Mechanisms & Tariffs, Operations in the Flanders region, National Control Centre, Energy Management). During his career he was also closely involved in European electricity transmission activities (UCTE and ENTSO-E).
Since beginning of 2013 he is CEO of CORESO, a Regional Security Coordination Initiative started up end of 2008 involving Elia (B), Rte (F), National Grid (UK), Terna (I) and 50Hertz (D), which mission is to ensure regional operational cooperation between electricity transmission system operators."
