Daleel Petroleum - Production Surveillance via Real-Time Well Models
With Daleel's production requirements continuing to rise, the exploration, development and production of new oil and gas resources are shifting to increasingly challenging sites. Meanwhile, regulations continue to tighten worldwide, and finding and keeping experienced personnel is getting harder. Forecasting and budgeting are exceedingly difficult in the face of ongoing pricing volatility and the many other uncertainties of a dynamic environment in and out of the field.
In response, Daleel has turned to a variety of innovative, upstream petroleum technologies. However these technologies alone are not enough to meet the full set of demands confronting today's industry. In late 2014, Daleel decided to view operational data as a resource. Automation & RTO was created as a new division within the production department to promote the idea of “Smart Daleel" which mainly look after providing required intelligence to asset team so they take the right decisions.
Muneer Al Balushi
Muneer has over 4 years’ experience in an IT environment and 13 years’ experience in the petroleum industry. He is currently the Real-Time & Smart Fields Team Leader at Daleel Petroleum. His main role is to manage/lead a team to establish the 'Smart Field' concept in Daleel in order to maximize asset value by implementing new systems and technologies which enable opportunity generation. In his previous role as Production Technologist, he looked after three fields to ensure their integrity, optimize their potential and restore their production. He is very well acquainted with surface and subsurface operations. Over the last five years he has been heavily involved in developing exceptions-based surveillance tools and an electronic well book and teal time asset monitoring..
Amira Al Zeidi, is currently working as a Real Time operation Engineer for Daleel Petroleum in Oman. She is passionate about deploying technological solutions to maximize Plant Reliability, Well Production and effectiveness of operations.
In her 7 years of experience, she has been responsible for development and enhancement of SMART Portals based on OSISoft PI solutions that have had a marked improvement on minimizing low value added activities for users and maximizing production through providing real time status visibility and trends of live production assets.
Amira is interested in exploring further how machine learning and AI can help operators achieve greater insights to improve reliability and maximize production.
Gian Marco Gioria
Gian Marco has been working for about 5 years in the world of Digital Oilfield for IPCOS. Holding a MSc in Petroleum Engineering, he has been configuring and implementing Digital Oilfield solutions for a wide variety of customers, from national to independent companies, onshore and offshore, conventional and unconventional. This job made him travel all over the World to meet the engineers that use the Digital Oilfield everyday: from Texas to Middle East, including West-Africa and North Sea regions. He has matured experience on production and reservoir surveillance, integrated asset modeling, data analytics, data science, dashboarding and business intelligence. His current role is to manage a team of developers and engineers in charge of creating new Digital Oilfield solutions for major clients.
