As one of North America’s largest renewable energy developer, owner, and operators, Invenergy LLC has faced and overcome numerous challenges in sourcing and building out a robust, cost-effective real-time data infrastructure for the wind and thermal assets in their portfolio. Invenergy has leveraged their Enterprise Agreement (EA) and PI infrastructure to provide real-time data, analysis and enterprise visibility to corporate and site personnel. This paper will provide best practices and details on the robust and cost-effective infrastructure design, deployment, and integration with OEM supplied SCADA systems as well as how Invenergy is leveraging real-time data to manage operating costs and operating effectiveness for nearly 1000 wind turbines deployed across the United States. Directions and future project work that continues to leverage the EA will also be provided.
