OSIsoft engages employees through virtual community
Here're just some of what we at OSIsoft have been sharing in our Homemade PI community.
Work from Home Resources
Tips, tricks, and advice from the folks who have been working remotely for years. This channel has everything from how to set up your space for maximum productivity to mental health resources for those struggling with the changes.
This is a place for employees to share the furry friends keeping them company while they're home. From dogs to cats to bunnies (and even a turtle!), we've been actively posting the antics of our pets to make each other smile.
Cooking at Home
Many of us are finding ourselves cooking and baking more as we stay home. From recipe swaps to tips and tricks for cooking with what's in your pantry, this channel is about all the delicious things that can be made at home.
Share Your Space
This is where we can share our work setup and give each other a peek into our home lives. From elaborate multi-monitor setups to scenic window views, OSIsoft employees around the world are showing off their space while learning more about their co-workers.
Health and Fitness
With the closure of gyms, employees are staying active with creative at-home workouts. From app recommendations to workouts created (and even hosted live) by employees themselves, fitness-minded folks have come together on this channel to stay moving while staying home.
Working from Home with Kids
Day-cares and schools are closed around the world, meaning that parents are forced to get creative to balance work and home life. This channel is a place for OSIsoft coworkers to share their tips for working from home with a full house.
In addition to these community discussions, we also used MS Teams to create channels for everything from book recommendations to which local spots are offering takeout. The community has quickly grown to over 700 members, with hundreds of active posts from employees around the world.
While the global situation seems to change by the day, we at OSIsoft are committed to keeping employees engaged and supported. The creation of an inclusive online community is just one part of a larger engagement strategy, which includes regular communication from management, an internal site for COVID-19 updates and resources, and external resources for customers and partners.
