Ivan Mudron and Nicholas Peels (OSIsoft Program Managers for Academia) Welcome and Kick Off our event with an overview of OSIsoft’s goals around the Academic Program at OSIsoft and why we are engaging with academia. Highlighting the flow of the day for our symposium and challenging the audience to make the most of their stay at the conference.
Nicolas Peels is OSIsoft’s Academic Program Manager, EMEA. He is the contact point for
universities and research institutes using the PI System for research and educational purposes. He joined OSIsoft in 2011 as a Customer Support Engineer, and took on product specialization and leadership roles before accepting his current role. He holds a Master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Salford, UK.
He studied Geoinformatics at VSB Technical University in Ostrava and finished the study with thesis focusing on data analysis and their subsequent use for optimization purposes.
In his studies, he worked on statistical calculations, the error errors, modeling of natural hazards and their impact on the land use of the landscape.
After his studies he joined OSIsoft in 2013 in Frydek-Mistek.
In addition to working on technical support, it also deals with the installation of the PI system and the demonstration of its application. Nowadays, he continues working for OSIsoft as Academic Program Manager for EMEA.
