With the rise of IIoT and Industry 4.0, there is a need to find new ways to capture and analyze industrial data. The major cloud platform providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) are leading the charge that enables virtually limitless compute resources and a full set of managed services, making the cloud the new Operating System. This enables new opportunities for adding value to PI Systems by offering a platform for advanced analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. AWS also makes it possible to extend your PI System by enabling new ways for collecting and processing sensor data at the edge through integrated edge/cloud services. This presentation takes a journey with TransCanada and describes how they are realizing new business value by using the PI System together with AWS.
