Edge Analytics with the PI System (EDS) (OSIsoft)
The Edge Data Store provides lightweight data collection, storage and access on edge devices and is an excellent platform for analyzing and visualizing data at the edge for immediate decision making prior to sending this data to an on premises PI System. We will develop applications for data ingress, analysis and visualization using the Edge Data Store Restful API and configure transfer of raw and resultant data streams using the egress engine. Join this session to get a glimpse into the power of edge analytics with the Edge Data Store and the PI System.
A 25-year software veteran, Greg has worked for a number of software companies, including Siemens Energy and Automation, Wonderware and OSIsoft. Now in his 17th year at OSIsoft, Greg's passion has always been focused on event storage technologies. His experience with event storage spans from IOT devices on the edge, the PI Data Archive and OSIsoft's Cloud Services. He is based out of OSIsoft's Johnson City, TN office. When not heads down in code, Greg tends to keep himself busy with family, home improvement projects and finding ways to make use of the latest smart home technologies. He also enjoys working with various non-profit organizations dedicated to serving individuals with Special Needs in the community.
Dan Lopez, a mechanical engineer by training, works in the Customer Support Services department, most recently on long-term projects with sports teams, airports, Smart Cities, and, of course, the OSIsoft-Esri partnership. He'd be glad to talk about any of those projects, or about any of his hobbies; when not flying from site to site, he enjoys baking cakes, reading science fiction, dancing, building robots, and distance running. Look for him almost any local road race in San Francisco; he'll be the one wearing head-to-toe OSIsoft blue.
