PI Network Health Monitoring in Real Time Utilizing IT Monitor, PI AF and PI
The OSIsoft PI Systems at Eastman Chemical Company (ECC) are in a manufacturing network residing throughout a global theatre. It is essential at ECC to support and maintain these systems as efficiently as possible while at the same time, providing visibility to upper management and key stakeholders that depend on these systems. A core team developed a Key Performance Indicator (KPI) application that provides visually recognizable system status relative to each regional collection of PI Systems on a global map. This KPI takes into account server performance, network health, and application availability as components of the status. These parameters are monitored using several OSIsoft technologies including IT Monitor, PI AF, and PI WebParts. Using these tools we were able to build a single KPI solution to satisfy the multiple needs of our diverse user base.
