Development & Implementation of the PI System at Cuajone Concentrator –Southern Peru
This presentation will describe the evolution since 1998 of the PI System at the Southern Peru, Cuajone Concentrator plant. It will describe high level applications developed on top of PI which have had a high impact on the dynamic management of the operations and on process optimization, as well as benefits obtained by using PI.

Nelver BenavidesNelver Benavides is a chemical engineer from Universidad Nacional de Trujillo – Perú (1994), with Masters Degree in Business Administration from Universidad ESAN – Perú. Nelver works in Southern Peru since 1996, having previous experience in the oil industry. His current title is Process Control Expert for the Cuajone Concentrator plant. His other responsibilities are: automation and control projects; optimization and continuous improvement; and, CAPEX project management for the Cuajone plant. During his first five years at Southern Peru, Nelver trained in operation of all the units of the plant.
