Realized Benefits of OSI PI Standardization at Progress Energy
Progress Energy has implemented a fleet solutions for the deployment and standardization of OSI PI server and client tools. This standardization includes the versions of UDS, patch application and interface versions. Utilization of display templates to be used in ProcessBook screen development ensures all displays are created with standard look/feel and VB code. This strategy has allowed for resource sharing, user friendly applications and efficient support.
The benefits included a rotational duty pager since PI Server Admins can now support any sites server and end users regardless of geographic location. Additionally, users can go to any system in the company and view or create displays since the version of OSI PI tools has been standardized.
