KEPCO(Korea Electric Power Corp.) is the only electric power company in Korea. Last year, we decided to build a performance monitoring and evaluation system for Taean Thermal power plant which is composed of 500MW x 6 units. We are planning to build the system on unit 1 to 4 and that may be expanded later. For this, PI system was adopted and configured. Despite a communication problem, PI system showed us satisfactory result in data gathering and DCS interfacing.
An application for Performace Monitoring and Evaluation is under developing with PI Utility(ProcessBook, ACE and Excel DataLink).
