RtPortal Overview

OSIsoft's RtPortal^TM is an integral component of the PI System. RtPortal family of products extends the reach of data by providing information workers with a common set of tools through which all of the organization's operational data is accessible. RtPortal is composed of two main product families: "smart clients" or applications installed on the information worker's desktop, and "thin clients" or zero-footprint Web-based parts that work within a portal infrastructure. This mix of components and varied information access ensures that each role within the organization has access to current, relevant information.

Thin Client Components. RtPortal encompasses a comprehensive collection of thin client components that employees can access through any secure, Internet connection. These graphical displays of complex data, in real time, simplify data comprehension and deliver high-level visibility into operational data.

Smart Client Components. For the employees who require deep insight into operational data, RtPortal also delivers access to a range of smart clients. While these applications reside on employees’ desktops, content from them can also be made available directly through thin client components, so power users can easily drill into the data of their choice.
