Interface to SAP R/3 PM (Plant Maintenance)
The SAP-PM module tracks maintenance history and schedules maintenance activities.
The PI System collects the process/equipment data from the plant/shop floor and RLINK provides them in a format that can be used in SAP R/3, i.e., to update measurement counters or measurement points by functional location or equipment to schedule maintenance.
The data flow between SAP-PM and Devices/Equipment in a plant via the PM-PCS (Plant Control System) library. The PI System module and RLINK (components of the OSIsoft RtPM platform) provide the integration between SAP and the plant floor using PM-PCS.
OSIsoft’s integration with SAP-PM supports the following capabilities:
- Point ‘n Click access to SAP equipment objects via PI ProcessBook
- Equipment/Functional Location downloads from SAP
- Support for updating Measurement Point/Counter readings by functional location and equipment
- Measurement Point values downloaded from SAP to PI
- SAP R/3 Notification generation and WorkOrder and Notification tracking , including Notification status modification
- Support for process/equipment condition/alarm detection
- Data analysis in a browser using RtWebParts/SAP iViews, including support for SAP Enterprise Portal
- Interface via PM-PCS (Plant Maintenance - Process Control System) RFC Library and certified by SAP
