Focus on Energy, Business Value and PI Systems
The two most recent in the ongoing series of OSIsoft regional seminars—held in New York City and hosted by Dominion in Richmond, Virginia—attracted a hundred users of the PI System.
New York Seminar
Ron Kolz, VP Sales, OSIsoft, kicked off the morning with a talk on “Seeing Clearly in the New Reality,” in which he described how changes in the business climate have increased the need for better real-time decision making. Con Edison honored the group with a joint presentation on their use of the PI System by Bill Kessler, David Santiago, George Baroudi and Frank Marcinek. Following a break, Bob Anderson of Rock Tenn joined in via video feed to describe the value they got from their Enterprise Agreement. Laurent Garrigues of OSIsoft presented the PI System Product Roadmap and then Jason Banfelder of Weill Cornell and Ben Whitaker, Mohawk Fine Paper demonstrated the value their companies derived from the PI System. Laurie Dieffenbach of OSIsoft presented on the Highly Available & Secure PI System—How to Leverage HA and Virtualization with Your PI System, followed by a talk from Microsoft by Brian Willson and Peter Vieites on the OSIsoft/Microsoft Strategic Alliance. The day concluded with Mike Mihuc, OSIsoft Regional Manager Giving an update on critical facilities management.
Richmond Seminar / Dominion on site
The group was welcomed by our host, Ray Sommerfeld, who gave an overview of Dominion in the energy industry. OSIsoft CEO and Founder Pat Kennedy, OSIsoft spoke on business realities of the new economic environment, and then Nancy Whitlock of Celanese described how they leverage their OSIsoft Enterprise Agreement for standardization of operations. John Baier described the OSIsoft/Microsoft Strategic Alliance. After lunch, Greg Kashmer of Dominion showed how they bring mobility to their PI data, followed by Baier describing the PI System Product Roadmap. Laurie Dieffenbach of OSIsoft presented on the Highly Available & Secure PI System—How to Leverage HA and Virtualization with Your PI System, followed by Angie Rothweiler of PSE&G who described the case for condition based maintenance using the PI System. Once again the day concluded with Mike Mihuc, OSIsoft Regional Manager, giving an update on critical facilities management.
