Cascades built an Energy Monitoring and Information System (EMIS) at corporate level to help their mills to reduce energy consumption by limiting over usage and finding optimization opportunities. This system is used to monitor in real time how the mills are performing, energy wise. Users have access to dashboards and reports for their energy KPI’s with targets that are based on basic models made from historical data. This session will present the actual system, from energy measurement to dashboards and modeling using a third party software combined with PI Servers. Also, an alternative option with PI servers, PI-AF and PI WebParts will be presented as an improved version of the actual system.
