The PI System can collect and store quality data from multiple sources and make it available in a common format. For example, one application collects and stores quality data (basis weight, moisture, etc.) and process data from paper machine quality control systems in mills across the entire corporation. Using complex calculations built in RtAnalytics, the data is then transformed into suitable formats for transmission to the corporation's quality management and product tracking systems where it is combined with lab test data. The resultant combined data is then transmitted back to the PI System for long-term storage and common access by geographically dispersed business units across the corporation.
