The PI System is frequently used to investigate equipment failures and safety incidents. Historical data is used to recreate the process conditions leading up to failure (e.g. equipment overloading) and to recreate the sequence of events as the equipment failed. These analyses are very useful for warranty claims on equipment where the user needs to prove that the equipment was operating within warranty limits.
