The PI System Module Database allows users to build hierarchical, modular views of plant data by process area. For example, a pulp mill configured a module for the pulping area that contained submodules for hardwood and softwood pulp. Each pulping submodule was set up to contain submodules for flow, consistency and other properties of the different types of pulp. Other hierarchical views could easily be constructed for other process areas or, for instance, a view by equipment for engineering purposes. These modules are reusable and easily deployed across multiple plant sites.
