WindCORE Control Center for Wind Farms
The need to reduce maintenance and operational costs has led to an increase in the development of specific SCADA systems (Supervisory, Control, and Data Acquisition) and applications for Wind Farms. One of the main problems of a Control Centre at a regional scale is the huge amount of information that must be managed. With the enormous amount of data that requires processing and the requirement for systems with growing capabilities, Iberdrola Ingeniería y Construcción has used the OSIsoft RtPM Platform to develop the On-Line Supervisory and Control Centre For Wind Farms. This solution gathers all wind farm information with a dynamic real-time database that allows data to be obtained on operator demand, in a dynamic and transparent way, without the necessity for a large SCADA system. This solution has been successfully used by Iberdrola Energías Renovables and Corporación Eólica (CESA) for its Centre of Operation for Renewable Energy.
