Electronic Status Boards at the Savannah River Site

Using ProcessBook (with embedded VBA and ActiveX controls) to consolidate/integrate plant status information from various sources including electronic rounds based on PI-ML, control system information, FileMaker Pro, and data manually entered in the status board directly. Currently used in eight control rooms on site, displayed on 50"" plasma screens. Features: automatic screen cycling, screen navigating buttons, immediate entry of some data by control room operators via pop-up forms, ability to attach comments to each field, each screen automatically updates, local save of screen information in an access database, and status boards continue to function when network or PI Server is down.

Bernie Sims has a B.S. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Tennesse in 1970 and a M.E. in Mechanical Engineering, University of South Carolina in 1976. He has been employed for 38 years at the Savannah River Site including 25 years in nuclear reactor process control and has worked on building the PI System at SRS since 1996.
