Performance Management - Turning Data into Dollars
Maintaining profitability in a challenging business environment is not easy; especially when you’re in the midst of fundamentally changing a company’s operating culture. As Millennium accelerated its transformation to Operational Excellence, it also made the decision to deploy the PI System to all its manufacturing facilities. The PI System is now established as the key tool providing Millennium’s data-driven culture all plant information. Deploying PI servers and clients is easy – much easier than one might expect, and definitely easier than wasting weeks and months trying to predict and quantify the myriad benefits of PI in advance.

Steve Sarnecki
Steven J. Sarnecki is a Global Director with Millennium Chemicals. In this role, he is responsible for developing and implementing an overall strategy for advanced technology transformation based on improved process control and manufacturing systems. This includes the use of the PI System as Millennium’s Enterprise Performance Management system for its facilities worldwide, including the US, UK, France, Australia, and Brazil. Prior to joining Millennium, Steve worked for Westvaco Corporation, a manufacturer of papers, packaging, and chemicals, and for Exxon in both chemicals and refining operations. Steve holds a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maryland and a MS in Business and Technical Management from the Johns Hopkins University.
