ENDESA has decided to set up a uniform platform in order to get whole process information from the power plants and dispatch center. This information is put in the intranet to the users for monitoring, performance, diagnostics, maintenance and operation criteria of these systems. The scope covers whole power plants of ENDESA GROUP placed in Spain, this is hydraulic, nuclear, fossil and the newest combined cycle power plants. Total installed power of the system is 15 GW. The system is based on distributed architecture and is capable to provide three years of online information.
The range of OSI products used in this system is according to the needs to cover: PI-UDS on site in each power plant and dedicated interface to local DCS, PI-UDS and web based application using PI-ICE and PI-ActiveView to serve the data via Internet Explorer in central office in Madrid and PI-ProcessBook and PI-DataLink in the clients widespread the corporative intranet. OSI products make possible to get the information to and from the plants where exist a wide number of DCSs and PLCs plus SCADA control systems using intranet and the same look and find.
The key of this project is to deliver the information from the source to the decision maker just in some seconds instead of days or months as before due to different systems and functionalities.
