Integrating PI Data into Web-Based Workflow Applications At The Chevron Salt Lake Refinery
We will present two web-based applications, currently in use at the Chevron Salt Lake Refinery, to demonstrate how seamless, "in-context" delivery of selected PI data to workflow and operator communications systems can significantly enhance a plant’s information infrastructure.
The first program electronically documents and disseminates operator shift activities and comments, integrated with relevant process data from the PI Archive. The software also allows supervisors to annotate operator comments and enter private notes for management use. The program provides easy searching and sorting of archived turnovers for improved operator communications between shifts.
The second program, ProcessMaximizer, is a comprehensive production planning and workflow management system designed for process industry operations. The system distributes a Weekly Plan, allows unlimited changes to that plan, issues plan change alerts, directs daily tankfield tasks, automatically updates tank/product configurations, allows operator implementation feedback, and tracks key process variables from PI against pre-established quality control parameters as defined in the Weekly Plan.
