In today’s process industries, there are few managers who are not familiar with management information systems or technicians who are not at ease with real-time process control. From its inception, the PI System opened up the possibilities to bring real-time process data into the management information arena. This enabled corporations to optimize their processes, reduce costs and increase profits. Identifying Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), using PI to monitor them and thereafter enable action to positively influence them is, by far, the biggest benefit of PI.
