Secure Sharing of PI Data with Customers

Bridgeline Holdings operates a multi-state natural gas pipeline business. The pipeline is operated for Bridgeline by ChevronTexaco, who also collect all real-time operating data into a central PI System on their network. This paper discusses how Bridgeline uses Industrial Evolution services and OSIsoft technologies to securely make real-time pipeline operating data available to its customers.This project is especially significant since over 35,000 PI data points are collected and made available each minute. Details of the project implementation are discussed, including PI System loading to the ChevronTexaco PI System. Security and performance issues are also discussed and presented.
