RtPM in an Integrated Pulp and Paper Mill

MeadWestvaco in Escanaba will present their long history of success using OSIsoft’s PI System/RtPM platform to run the daily operations at their large integrated pulp and paper mill. Beginning with over 300 users during the initial 1988 PI deployment, Escanaba has continuously upgraded and expanded the role of PI/RtPM in their operations. Today over 600 employees at Escanaba use RtPM as their primary operations desktop to, for example: monitor the various mill processes, launch standard operating procedures, manage paper quality, monitor environmental emissions from the pulp mill, manage bleach plant performance, monitor control loop tuning, interface with product tracking, track chemical usage, manage inventory and monitor the performance of their real-time performance networking infrastructure.
