PM-RLink Utilization At Dow Corning

Dow Corning implemented PM-RLink as a tool to aid in equipment maintenance cost reduction and improved metrics for asset utilization.

The project focuses on 2 main areas, preventative maintenance schedules and TEEP/OEE process performance measures.

First, by shifting from time based maintenance to schedules driven by condition changes and run times.

Second, PM-RLink, PI Batch and some in-house developed applications were combined to collect the data necessary for calculating Total Effective Equipment Productivity (TEEP) and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), two commonly used methods measuring asset utilization.

These products were married together to provide a simple and easy to use set of tools for tracking process performance and spotlight opportunities for process improvement by analyzing losses and their cause.
