SUBNET has developed solutions to enable real-time substation IED data to be interfaced with the electric utilities OSIsoft PI System. These solutions utilize the PI OPC Interface and SUBNETs Substation Explorer OPC Server modules. The substation data available to the PI System has typically been restricted to the limited amount of substation information available from the utilities SCADA/EMS system. This OPC solution however provides all utility departments with direct access to all substation IED data without burdening the SCADA/EMS system.
