New Initiatives in Asset Management with PI-RLINK, Maximo, Indus, JDEdwards, and Mimosa

PI-RLINK has been enhanced to include a bi-directional gateway to ERP/EAM (Enterprise Resource Planning/Enterprise Asset Management) systems such as MRO Software Maximo, Indus PassPort and JDEdwards OneWorld. This functionality is patterned after the well accepted RLINK – SAP/PM interface and includes updating equipment meter readings (counters) and measurement point values and automatic generation of work order/work request in the EAM system based on PI events and triggers. Data transfer and work order initiation use the MIMOSA (Machinery Information Management Open Systems Alliance) compliant XML schema where supported, such as Indus-PassPort. This technical presentation includes a discussion of asset management projects at PI sites with MRO Maximo, Indus PassPort, and JDEdwards OneWorld servers.<

Gopal has been associated with PI and OSI in numerous projects for over 10 years, since its VMS days. He is currently working in the ERP Integration area to extend PI-RLINK capabilities to ERP/EAM systems such as JDEdwards, MRO Software Maximo and Indus PassPort. . He has a master’s degree in Chemical Engineering and he is a Registered Engineer in Pennsylvania.
