Module Database

The Module Database allows its users to create and store non-tag based informational models and link that data to PI tags via Aliases. This talk will discuss: Applying object-oriented modeling techniques to the ModuleDB; How different ModuleDB users may want to use information in different manners; How the ModuleDB can be used to represent multiple/recursive hierarchies; How "elarge"e models can be handled within the ModuleDB; and How the ModuleDB can be used to "esimplify"e Process Book applications.

Mr. Falk has been involved in numerous projects involving the application of information systems technology, object oriented techniques, and real-time communications technology to automated manufacturing, electrical distribution and automation and power quality monitoring. Mr. Falk is a recognized expert on utility communications, communication security, information integration technology, distributed object technology, and the Manufacturing Message Specification (MMS) having served on and chaired numerous industry technical committees. Mr. Falk is the lead system designer for SISCO’s use of PI products, PI integration services, and the development of SISCO products based upon the capabilities of OSIsoft products. Mr. Falk is the project lead of a PI deployment, at Detroit Edison, using a 40-50K module Module Database, as part of the system.
