A goal of every company is to better utilize their manufacturing assets and achieve the maximum possible return on those investments. Over the course of the last 2 years Dow Corning has embarked on a project to accomplish just that. The project encompasses PM RLINK and 2 methodologies that are gaining popularity in industry, Six Sigma and Total Effective Equipment Productivity (TEEP) / Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). In last years presentation I discussed how Dow Corning utilized PM RLINK and our expected savings. This year I will provide realized savings and updates about how the project has progressed. There will be new information on the uses of PM RLINK for condition monitoring and how we are adding Root Cause Investigation (RCI) to our TEEP/OEE efforts to create a rich suite of tools for collecting and analyzing asset failures using the Six Sigma methodologies.

Bryan graduated from Purdue University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Integrated Manufacturing and has been with Dow Corning for the last 12 years. His first 8 years were spent in supporting Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). The following 2 years as a PI administrator and doing PI development work. In the last 2 years, his main focus has been on RLINK implementations for both PPPI and PM.
