Implementation of RLINK-PPPI at a Pulp and Paper Mill

Klabin is one of the largest pulp and paper groups in Brazil. All Klabin’s sites in Brazil run SAP and one of their units, Klabin Bacell, was the first one to fully integrate plant floor with SAP using RLINK-PPPI. Klabin Bacell produces dissolving Kraft pulp using a pre hydrolysis process known as Solucell. The factory works with highly flexible technology, allowing the production of a great number of custom products for different applications. Klabin Bacell has been successfully running PI System since 1995.

The Klabin Bacell project was divided in two major parts: the Migration from PI 2 to PI 3 System and the implementation of RLINK-PPPI. The implementation of RLINK at Klabin Bacell was designed to cover both the continuous and the discrete parts of the plant consisting of a fully integration of SAP/R3, RLINK and the PI System. In the client side, a multi-functionality interface was developed using PI-Process Book 2.2 displays with some VBA programming. These displays allow the customer to completely manage all the existent campaigns in RLINK for its entire production processes, from the wood receiving area to the packaging line.
