Data + Data = Information

The California ISO has many production and historic data systems, including the PI System. Each system has been designed to perform specific functions. The challenge for Real-Time Grid Operations is to collect data from each of the production systems, perform the necessary calculations and analysis, then present the Dispatcher with critical information for making System Reliability and Market decisions. Currently the ISO is developing a new system that can perform these functions using a front end application that requires little, if any, training.
