Building an Industrial Data Center - How PI and IT Monitor Secure the Process Control Network
To be competitive in today’s markets, all manufacturing is compelled to be more agile and to enable the user to realize RtPM. The challenge is being able to exchange this data with a high level of integration, at a manageable cost, and most importantly, without compromising security on the plant floor. This presentation introduces the Industrial Data Center (IDC), a concept developed by WiredCity, a division of OSIsoft, that provides a realistic, simple, and effective solution to this complex problem. Built from a selection of mature software and hardware, the IDC is a packaged solution that connects systems and data across an organization, ultimately enabling an industrial facility to operate at a rate that is necessary to remain competitive. And because it doesn’t require the replacement of existing systems and applications, both costs and risk are reduced.
