Automated Notification and Report Publishing at First Energy

First Energy has deployed a web-based, enterprise-wide notification and reporting system for PI. The system services hundreds of users and monitors over 1000 individual PI points. In addition to notifying users by email and page, PI points are used to trigger reports. These reports can be received as email attachments (XLS, CSV, or HTM), or FTP’d to vendors or internal web servers for automated publishing through the FirstEnergy Portal. The end-users develop their own "triggered" reports using Microsoft Excel and PI DataLink.
